About The Position

The Food Safety Coordinator at Pepsi Northwest Beverages, LLC is responsible for ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and quality standards within the manufacturing facility. This role involves leading food safety training, conducting audits, and maintaining communication with internal and external stakeholders regarding food safety protocols. The position requires flexibility in working hours, including the ability to work any shift and overtime as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or 2-5 years equivalent experience in the food manufacturing industry.
  • ASQC Certification and Certified Quality Auditor preferred.
  • Experience with CAD and Minitab is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and highly detailed and organized.
  • Ability to provide strategic and tactical leadership to all aspects of the job; works well in a team environment and independently.
  • Ability to prepare documentation detailing work, building process flows, etc.
  • Ability to read and use standards of operations, understand and use process, procedures, or workflow documentation.
  • Ability to work with industrial chemicals safely, ensuring proper labeling and following MSDS guidelines.
  • Ability to lift/carry 5-90 lbs. frequently for 8-12 hours a day.
  • Ability to stand constantly for 8-12 working hours.

Responsibilities

  • Exercise and administer all Food Safety and Regulatory processes and procedures to proactively address internal and external customer needs.
  • Create and drive quality improvements to Food Safety/Regulatory processes and services to satisfy and exceed customer requirements.
  • Responsible for training and development of all policies and procedures supporting Global Food Safety/Regulatory programs; organize and present necessary food safety information at all plant meetings and trainings.
  • Point of contact for Food Safety/Regulatory customer technical information requests ensuring accurate and timely information flow between function and customers.
  • Ensure compliance for all Food Safety related protocols for CSDs and Fountain products throughout the plant.
  • Lead and/or support food safety and quality audits including AIB, FSSC, QAS, and FDA/ODA; communicate all requirements and expectations to all related internal and external parties.
  • Understand and perform all quality and food safety checks, including maintenance and calibrations to all third party and lab equipment, filter changes, pest control procedures, and all other food safety regulatory requirements.
  • Operate all manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently to include line monitoring, removing, or shifting materials and/or finished product as necessary to facilitate proper flow and machine operation.
  • Ensure employees and contractors follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food safety programs.
  • Expedite quality concerns to the line, working with maintenance as necessary.
