About The Position

The Food Safety Compliance Specialist at Shamrock Foods Company is responsible for ensuring the quality assurance and food safety of the facility. This role involves maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local food safety regulations, serving as a subject matter expert, and performing various administrative tasks to support the organization's compliance function. The specialist will work closely with third-party auditors and regulatory agencies to uphold food safety standards and improve operational processes.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • 2+ years' experience in food safety compliance or related fields preferred.
  • Experience in State and Federal regulation of transporting and warehousing of wholesale food products preferred.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Strong critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work in various temperature-controlled zones ranging from -15 F to ambient temperature.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Willingness to travel to other locations for assistance as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement traceability testing and monitoring.
  • Identify gaps in documentation or potential areas of non-compliance and suggest resolutions.
  • Respond to standard requests for documentation or records based on established guidelines.
  • Apply proper acceptance/rejection criteria and mark items with details such as grade and acceptance or rejection status.
  • Ensure the facility meets all required food safety laws, regulations, and corporate policies.
  • Maintain food safety by upholding proper sanitary conditions, including allergen control and pest control guidelines.
  • Work closely with third-party auditing companies and divisional assets to ensure company food safety and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Ensure facility SQF standards are maintained and improved upon.
  • Coordinate activities concerned with regulatory inspections related to food safety and operational aspects.
  • Coordinate accurate root-cause analysis to generate prevention strategies and implement preventative and corrective actions.
  • Assist in compliance reviews and audits as set out in the Facility Compliance Program.
  • Collect and maintain compliance-related data or records that are accurate, complete, and fulfill legal requirements, including trend analysis and corrective actions.
  • Conduct weekly, monthly, and quarterly audits to track or ensure compliance of organizational processes or functions.
  • Maintain a repository of forms, handbooks, policies, or other documents needed to comply with applicable regulations or standards.
