About The Position
As a Food Runner at Grand Wok in MGM Grand, you will play a key role in delivering the fast-paced, high-quality dining experience this vibrant Asian restaurant is known for. In this guest-facing position, you will provide courteous and prompt tableside service, ensuring each dish is delivered accurately and with care. You will confidently describe menu items in detail and answer guest questions with knowledge and enthusiasm, helping bring the flavors and story of Grand Wok to life. Your energy, attention to detail, and commitment to service excellence will help create a seamless and memorable experience for every guest.
Requirements
- Work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays required
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent preferred
- 6+ Months of prior relevant experience in a high-volume dining restaurant as a Food Runner or Server preferred
Responsibilities
- Greet guest in a positive, friendly manner, making them feel welcome
- Expedite food from the kitchen to the table as dictated by sequence of service and by the Chef or kitchen expediter
- Describe food upon placement on the table, answering questions pertaining to the dishes
- Describe menu features as needed (include changes and additions)
- Communicate with expediter to ensure delivery of food to the correct table and position
- Perform assigned open and closing side-work
- Communicate needs of the guest to kitchen and management, inform management of guest reaction and comments and assist management to ensure smooth operation and quality service
- Check dining area, tables and chairs for cleanliness, maintain cleanliness and organization of station and service area
