About The Position

The food expeditor/food runner acts as a liaison between the kitchen staff and the waitstaff to ensure a steady workflow throughout the various departments the restaurant.

Requirements

  • Previous hospitality experience in a high-volume restaurant
  • Ability to stand, lift and bend for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to bend and lift to 40 lbs.
  • Ability to tolerate exposure to hot kitchen elements or cleaning materials.
  • Ability to work and remain focused in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule inclusive of varying shifts such as days, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate kitchen orders.
  • Prioritize outgoing meals to ensure that no orders are lost, forgotten, or delayed.
  • Maintain quality control of out going food.
  • Facilitate communication between the front of house so that different departments of the restaurant can communicate without leaving their stations
  • Help monitor food safety.
