About The Position
The Food Runner position at the Islander Resort is a vital role within the restaurant, responsible for serving and replenishing food items to ensure a seamless dining experience for guests. This position requires maintaining high standards of food service and cleanliness, as well as handling guest transactions efficiently. The Food Runner will report directly to the Restaurant Manager and is expected to greet and acknowledge guests warmly upon their arrival, creating a welcoming atmosphere. In addition to serving food, the Food Runner will assist in the storage of all deliveries, ensuring that all condiments and utensils are stocked in the beverage area. The role also involves filing coffee and teapots, maintaining the appearance of patio furniture, and managing the opening and closing of umbrellas. Knowledge of the menu, including pricing, item locations, and specials, is essential, as is familiarity with how each product is prepared and its accompanying condiments. The Food Runner must also be adept at operating all line equipment and maintaining sanitation and cleanliness at all times. A positive attitude and a cooperative spirit are crucial for success in this role, as the Food Runner will be expected to report any safety issues and quality or spoilage concerns promptly.
