About The Position

The role of a Food Receiver / Steward involves a variety of responsibilities to ensure the smooth operation of food delivery and storage, along with assisting in other areas of Dining Hall once orders are properly managed. COMPENSATION: The Hourly rate for this position is $27.00 to $30.00. If both numbers are the same, that is the amount that Aramark expects to offer. Requirements

  • Must be over 18 years of age
  • High school education or equivalent is preferred
  • Previous receiving, warehouse, or grocery experience preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Manual dexterity required for operating machinery
  • Able to lift up to 50 lb frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 35 lb
  • Some client locations require a current valid driver's license. If this is required, an MVR will be run as part of your pre-employment screening process.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and verify deliveries against invoices and purchase orders
  • Check for correct quantities, damage, expiration dates, and overall quality
  • Communicate discrepancies or issues with Executive Chef
  • Label and date incoming products
  • Organize and rotate stock in storage areas and coolers (FIFO method)
  • Assist in stocking shelves or back stocking as needed
  • Maintain organized records of receiving paperwork
  • Communicate inventory shortages, overages, or errors to Executive Chef and managers
  • Maintain clean and orderly receiving areas, storage rooms, and walk-ins
  • Follow all food safety and workplace safety protocols
  • Assists in other areas of Dining Hall when orders have been managed
  • Communicate effectively with other departments regarding incoming orders
