As a Food Program Specialist at Family Resources Inc., you will play a crucial role in supporting the food program by monitoring childcare provider homes to ensure compliance with USDA regulations. Your responsibilities will include reviewing menus, meal counts, and claims, ensuring that every aspect meets the highest standards. You will also have the rewarding opportunity to train new childcare providers on USDA requirements, empowering them to deliver nutritious meals to children. In addition, you will provide vital technical assistance to providers, helping them navigate challenges and enhance their programs effectively. Requirements

  • Have a High School Diploma or equivalent. Higher education hours preferred
  • Must be willing to work evenings
  • weekends
  • holidays as necessary to meet the Food Program requirements
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft word
  • excel
  • outlook and database management required
  • Detail oriented
  • organized
  • flexible on availability and accurate recordkeeping
  • Must exercise good judgment and common sense
  • and the ability to follow through on assigned tasks
  • Display professionalism in speech and manner
  • Demonstrate responsibility in job duties and following through on assignments
  • Demonstrate motivation and openness to new ideas for the program
  • Ability to work semi-independently without direct supervision
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with child care providers and staff
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from a variety of cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must be willing to use personal vehicle for extensive driving across four(4) counties
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • clear driving record and proof of motor vehicle insurance
  • Background compliant with requirements of the Department of Juvenile Justice
