About The Position

Sodexo is seeking a Food Production Manager 3 at MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington D.C Medstar Washington Hospital Center's patient-first philosophy combines care, compassion and clinical excellence with an emphasis on customer service in this 900 bed hospital. What You'll Do The Production Manager will come with an energetic and results-driven personality, be a self-starter who can run with things with little direction, and have a proven ability to maintain organization and safety in a high-volume kitchen. This position will be responsible for PURCHASING as well as direct oversight of the frontline production team. directly manage all culinary operations relating to retail, patient feeding, and catering; m aintain schedules; cover schedule as needed ; i mplement and standardiz e all culinary systems and procedures for hospital; m onitor, a udit, implement and standardiz e new menus ; be r esponsible for Food and Physical Safety and annual training for 15 frontline staff; c onduct audits, create action plans based on audit findings and be responsible for keeping and updating GC audit books ; w ork with vendors on procurement items; be responsible for purchasing manager and purchasing financial audits ; c onduct yearly culinary foundations training to all cooks ; i mprove and standardize catering services , c reate menus based on client needs ; i mplement innovative and fresh ideas in retail, catering and patient services ; and/or c reate interpersonal relationships with clients in hospital . Requirements

  • extensive ordering experience and culinary knowledge
  • a strong leadership skillset
  • organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Minimum Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum Management Experience - 2 years
  • Minimum Functional Experience – 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.

  • healthcare experience is preferred
