At CP Fresh we make healthy, fresh food items as well as value-added fresh cut fruit and vegetables for use in a wide base of our retail and foodservice customers. Requirements

  • Ability to read/write/record data in English and perform mathematical calculations.
  • Must have basic computer skills (Microsoft Word Programs).
  • Able to work in cold a refrigerated environment of 34 -37 degrees.
  • Ability to direct a diverse group of people with excellent written or oral communication.
  • Attendance is critical; Lead must be dependable to report to work on time and work a flexible schedule.
  • Required to follow 'Safety policy' and report employee accidents or unsafe work conditions to Production Supervisor.
  • Must have working knowledge and experience in the preparation of food items.
  • Ability to work under more than average stressful conditions.
  • Ability to perform work in limited physical space with variable ventilation.
  • At least 1+ years of Production and Processing leadership experience.
  • Intermediate word and excel skills for correspondence and reporting duties.
  • Excellent organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the processing team at this facility and meet recipe specifications and build orders as determined by the processing allocation.
  • Provide a safe & clean work environment for self and other team members.
  • Adhere to existing corporate policies and procedures in the Production Department.
  • Follow all allergen procedures.
  • Ensure audits and preventative maintenance schedules are performed to established procedures.
  • Provide the Production Supervisor with objective feedback.
  • Meet or exceed daily production requirements per product specifications as set by production planning.
  • Review daily processing allocation and plan and prioritize daily work schedule to meet daily production requirements.
  • Alert team members to any special instructions and updates the team about any production add-ons.
  • Ensure Production crew is processing food according to HACPP and GMP regulations.
  • Oversee that crew is safely using equipment as necessary in preparation of food service items by providing training and appropriate PPE.
  • Operate all functions of position alone and without assistance if necessary.
  • Fill in for the Production Supervisor when absent.
  • Coordinate the start-of-shift with the Processing Manager and other leads.
  • Check order sheets and other written instructions to meet customer specifications.
  • Review daily documents filled out by the different lines for food safety requirements.
  • Assist with the communication with the processors to make sure that product is available and the lines work efficiently.
  • Ensure that materials needed to produce the product are available and pulled from the warehouse.
  • Fill in when necessary and assist with training new employees.
  • Assist the processing supervisor and manager with employee relation policies and to safety and health requirements in the food handling and storage areas.
  • Be responsible for quality and food safety.
  • Represent the team at team meetings if necessary.
  • Share in minor repair work and housekeeping responsibilities for the work area.
