About The Position

This position is a full-time position working Monday - Friday, approximately 40 hours a week and some evenings. You will be working closely with the Nutrition Director, Nutrition Manager, and other Food Prep Associates. Performance Requirements: Duties to be performed shall include, but are not limited to the following: Organize and maintain kitchen environment for optimal job performance Daily prep and set up of Senior Café hot line Prepare daily meals for hot Mobile Meals and Senior Café Prepare food items special events, activities, and meetings as required Monitor and maintain proper food temperatures by HACCP and ServeSafe standards. Strive to ensure good Health Department standards. Maintain sanitation control procedures for food production area as well as coolers/freezers and equipment to be in compliance with local health code. Assist as necessary with the rotation of food supplies as well as putting away the delivery of stock. Must be certified in CPR, AED and first aid and maintain certifications. Attend team and organization meetings. Perform other duties as assigned by Nutrition Director and Nutrition Manager. EDUCATION AND RELATED EXPERIENCE : High school graduate; one year’s experience in food preparation and service. Post-high school food service training is desirable. Experience working with volunteers and older adults. SKILLS: Possesses good verbal and written communication skills Ability to follow directions Self-starter; ability to work alone Basic food preparation Basic math skills Ability to stand for extended periods, walk, and lift a minimum of 35 lbs. Strong organizational skills Able to relate well to older adults and volunteers Possesses valid driver’s license to operate motor vehicles for 50 North purposes Ability to drive safely PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Physical job requirements include, but are not limited to the following: 1. Remain in stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods. 2. Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand . 3. Ability to move equipment or boxes weighing up to 50 pounds. 4. Ability to arrive at work on time. 5. Have a valid driver’s license. 6. Move about accomplishing tasks.
