National Housing Trust (NHT) has been dedicated to creating and preserving affordable housing for almost 40 years. We build, preserve, and finance affordable housing and use that expertise to inform and advance resident-focused solutions to strengthen the broader affordable housing industry. NHT has a staff of 60+ across five program areas: Policy, Lending, Real Estate Development, Community Outreach and Impact, and Sustainability. Our hallmark is our cross-functional, integrated approach to innovating, demonstrating, and amplifying solutions to the affordable housing crisis in the U.S. NHT owns and operates the Villages of East River Apartments located at 305 37th St SE, Washington, DC 20019. As part of our commitment to residents, NHT is working with the Capital Area Food Bank (CAFB) to launch a yearlong initiative to address food insecurity. Our Community Outreach and Impact (COI) team is dedicated to resident success. We believe that all people deserve affordable housing and that integrated, onsite services provide accessible support to our residents. We are seeking one Villages of East River resident to serve as a Food Pantry Coordinator. This is a contract position that will begin in February 2026-December 2026. The Food Pantry Coordinator will oversee operations of our small community food pantry and will work closely with staff from NHT and residents in your community. This position will be contracted by NHT. This position is DC-based. Due to the nature of the work, this position offers no remote work options. This position requires up to 5 hours monthly, including all distribution days and preparation time.
