Job SummaryThe Food Operations Manager supports both culinary production and retail cafeteria dining operations within an acute‑care facility. This role works closely with the Executive Chef and Senior Director to ensure smooth daily operations, high‑quality food production, and excellent customer service across our retail café (open daily, 6 AM–2 PM) and weekday coffee shop (7 AM–4 PM). The position also provides oversight for storeroom functions and assists with culinary tasks as needed. The ideal candidate brings a blend of culinary experience, operational leadership, and strong technical skills to manage scheduling, ordering, inventory, and foodservice software systems in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment.

Nice To Haves

  • A.S. degree or equivalent experience
  • Kitchen management experience
  • High‑volume or institutional foodservice experience preferred
  • Catering experience a plus
  • Strong knowledge of food production, sanitation, cost controls, and presentation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and foodservice software
  • Willingness to participate in customer satisfaction initiatives
  • ServSafe certification highly desirable

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the retail café and coffee shop
  • Support culinary production and assist the Executive Chef as needed
  • Manage staff scheduling, ordering, and inventory for retail and storeroom areas
  • Utilize foodservice software, apps, and Microsoft Office tools
  • Ensure compliance with sanitation, safety, and quality standards
  • Assist with catering and special events
  • Support leadership with additional duties as assigned
