About The Position

Sodexo is seeking a highly motivated Food Operations Manager 3 for their Culinary Center in Brooklyn, NY The Sodexo Culinary Center / Cook Chill Building services New York City Health + Hospitals (H+H), provide 15,000 meals daily to 11 acute care facilities, 4 long-term care locations, and 1 senior center. The Food Operations Manager 3 will report to the General Manager, manage a team of 4 union employees, and ensure high quality food service for patients, staff, and visitors while maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations. Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in food operations management, team leadership, and operational efficiency in a strong unionized healthcare environment.

Requirements

  • have a work history demonstrating strong employee engagement leadership skills, as well as previous supervisory experience and the ability to work collaboratively
  • have culinary production experience and a strong background in safety and sanitation compliance
  • can manage multiple priorities, demonstrate professional communication skills, and a passion for a high level of customer service

  • prioritize tasks and exhibit flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed
  • demonstrate working knowledge of Sodexo Food Management System (FMS) The Market Connection (TMC), Sodexo Menu Graphics (SMG), Cater Trax and is proficient in computer skills and report management experience. This does not apply to external candidates
  • Minimum Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum Management Experience - 3 years
  • Minimum Functional Experience - 3 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.

Responsibilities

  • have oversight of day-to-day operations
  • successfully coordinate all required tasks through subordinate managers, supervisors and frontline staff
  • deliver high quality food services including retail, catering and patient meal management operations
  • achieve company and client financial targets and goals
  • develop and maintain client and customer relationships (i.e., comfortable in c-suite settings where communication skills are imperative when serving as top level site management)
  • develop strategic plans
  • ensure HACCP, regulatory and standards compliance
  • have daily interaction with patients, their families and clinical team to ensure patient satisfaction
  • create a positive environment
  • ensure Sodexo standards are met
