About The Position

The Food Manufacturer Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for directing maintenance crews in the installation, repair, and preventive maintenance of equipment used throughout the plant, facilities, utilities, and powerhouse equipment. This role oversees maintenance processes to reduce mechanical downtime and ensure product flows and production lines operate at maximum efficiency.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of maintenance supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience acting as a lead by providing training, coaching/mentoring to less experienced staff or through managing a process or project.
  • Proficient use of computer, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote), and other related applications or software.
  • Advanced technical skills in ammonia refrigeration, high pressure boiler, compressed air, mechanical, and electrical fields.
  • Thorough knowledge of maintenance systems, work order processes, preventive/predictive maintenance, TPM, inventory and scheduling software.
  • Strong leadership skills including conflict resolution, facilitation, change management skills, decision making, empowerment, and delegation.
  • Good planning and priority setting skills.
  • Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Leads teams of Maintenance Mechanics & Electricians in predictive & preventative maintenance and machine repair.
  • Responsible for the development, implementation, and day-to-day supervision of maintenance systems, processes, and documentation associated with efficient and High Performing Manufacturing Organizations.
  • Ensures maintenance is scheduled in a timely manner and collaborates with Production to schedule and accomplish equipment and facility repairs.
  • Develops and/or maintains Key Performance Indicators for tracking and reporting the performance of the maintenance function.
  • Provides long-term solutions and day-to-day support to all operating teams having issues with troubleshooting, problem analysis, and equipment failures.
  • Trains employees on proper work methods and safety procedures.
  • Maintains accurate records of maintenance work performed and inventory.
  • Provides regular status reports to maintenance management team.
  • Reviews all planned job packages for labor requirements, materials, parts, methods, permits, and priorities.
  • Distributes work orders directly to those assigned to perform the task.
  • Evaluates all Emergency work identified to ensure an emergency response is necessary.
  • Ensures appropriate resources for each planned and scheduled job have the correct skill levels for proper work execution.
  • Controls Job Execution and directs Trades in the performance of approved maintenance jobs.
  • Monitors each job closely by frequently visiting jobs in progress to ensure job quality and progress.
  • Interfaces with the Production Department on any changes in duration or conditions that impact the schedule.
  • Completes or delegates the completion of all required tasks and responsibilities in the absence of key personnel.
  • Flexibility to work non-standard hours as needed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
