The Roaster Baker assists the Roasting/Baking team in various day-to-day operations. This role involves working across various production lines including granola, roasted nuts and seeds, and other snack foods. This role is responsible for operating equipment, maintaining product quality, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols. Requirements

  • Ability to learn and understand tasks quickly.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions and request clarification when needed.
  • Ability to follow instructions and procedures as outlined by the warehouse.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • No previous experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Follow work instructions, standards, and standard operating procedures (SOP's) for equipment set up and changeover including, but not limited to Pre-run Check; Verify Machine is Clean and Ready to Operate; Package Weight; and Accuracy Check.
  • Identify and resolve issues during set up and changeover.
  • Set up sealer with proper bag type, weight, and heat setting.
  • Operate packaging equipment, including troubleshooting and adjusting in accordance with established work standards, product weight, and other relevant product data.
  • Identify and resolve issues during set up and changeover.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues with equipment at the entry maintenance mechanic level.
  • Follow escalation protocol in a timely manner when troubleshooting efforts fail.
  • Conduct detailed quality checks at regular intervals; inspect filled containers to ensure product is packaged according to specifications.
  • Record the data for each production run, including which machine, the date, shift, crew, bags and boxes produced, start and end times, and customer.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, SQF, GMP, and safety standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support Mountain Man Nut and Fruit Company business objectives, including, but not limited to filling, sealing, boxing, palleting, and cleaning.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.
