About The Position
Ensure the meal program runs smoothly by setting up, serving, and cleaning up all meal-related items. Adhere to DFTA standards at all times. Over time, that mission expanded to help anyone who walked through the doors of any of our facilities. The JCC has become a true community center—not just for the Jewish community, but for the entirety of Staten Island. Programs serve the needs we see in our community and are constantly expanding to meet new demand. We serve people of all walks of life, from young children to seniors and everyone in between. Requirements
- Food handler certification
- DFTA training and in-service program
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work with diverse populations and to handle complex situations with sensitivity and professionalism
Responsibilities
- Remove supplies from closet and set up
- Set up tables and coffee station
- Clean and prepare food service station
- Prepare set ups (napkin, fork, spoon and knife)
- Serve lunch to senior adults
- Clean up food service station, remove tablecloths from table, return items from tables to closet
- Put away remaining milk and juice
- Keep inventory of all paper supplies
- Perform daily temperature checks of meals from caterer and maintain daily logs
- Attend in in-service and meetings, as required by supervisor
- All other projects assigned by supervisor
