About The Position

The Food & Facility Support Staff is responsible for completing daily kitchen, dining, and facility tasks within the Adult Day Services’ Day Center. This role ensures meals, snacks, cleaning, sanitation, and safety responsibilities are completed consistently, safely, and on schedule. This position works independently and follows a structured daily routine to support overall Day Center operations and the needs of clients with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.

  • Experience in food service, janitorial, or facility support preferred but not required.

  • Ability to bend, stoop, and reach frequently.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25–40 lbs.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks in kitchen and cleaning environments.
  • Criminal arrest check will be done through the OSBI; Per Section 1025.1 et seq. Of Title 56 of the Oklahoma statutes, House Bill 1790, any prospective employee with a felony or misdemeanor conviction, guilty plea or plea of nolo contendere will not be eligible for employment. This prohibition may be disregarded if an appropriate waiver is obtained from the Office of the Director, DDSD, Department of Human Services, or his/her designees.
  • Community Services Registry checks (House Bill 1790) will be done through DDSD, Department of Human Services. The person whose name appears on the registry cannot work for A New Leaf.
  • Employees and A New Leaf are engaged in an at-will employment relationship, meaning that either are free to terminate the relationship at any time with or without reason and with or without notice.
  • This position is scheduled Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
  • Must be able to follow all safety, sanitation, and PPE requirements.
  • Food Handler’s Permit required. If not currently obtained, employee must complete certification within a designated timeframe as part of onboarding/training.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily opening tasks including site safety checks and preparation of kitchen and dining areas.
  • Prepare and set up food service areas for breakfast, lunch, and snacks.
  • Assist with preparation of simple food items, drinks, soups, and serving stations.
  • Set up plates, utensils, and serving materials.
  • Follow diet cards and meal service structure during serving times.
  • Serve meals and snacks according to established schedule.
  • Wash dishes and maintain cleanliness of all kitchen equipment.
  • Clean and sanitize food preparation areas, dining tables, and high-touch surfaces.
  • Sweep and mop kitchen, dining room, and assigned areas throughout the day.
  • Clean sinks, stainless steel surfaces, refrigerators, and food storage areas.
  • Complete scheduled cleaning tasks including hallways and staff areas.
  • Remove trash and maintain cleanliness of all assigned spaces.
  • Perform daily closing tasks including sanitizing food lines, cleaning equipment, and resetting areas.
  • Monitor supply levels and maintain required par levels.
  • Notify Supervisor when supplies need to be reordered.
  • Ensure PPE (gloves, aprons, hairnets) is used properly and maintained.
  • Follow all safety, sanitation, and food handling requirements.
  • Complete required logs, including temperature logs and task tracking.
  • Maintain organized, clean, and safe work areas at all times.
  • Work independently to complete all assigned tasks within designated timeframes.
  • Perform all other duties as requested by site Leadership Team members.
  • Attends and participates in staff meetings, in-services, and trainings as assigned.
  • Adheres to and supports the organization’s policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Accepts assigned duties in a cooperative manner and performs all other related duties as assigned by Supervisor.
