The N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services provides services that promote and improve agriculture, agribusiness, and forests; protect consumers and businesses; and conserve farmland and natural resources for the prosperity of all North Carolinians. The Department employs approximately 2,000 employees. The Food Distribution Division contributes to the nutritional wellbeing of the citizens of North Carolina by distributing USDA foods to eligible Recipient Agencies. Food Distribution administers six food programs for USDA. Duties involve the transportation and delivery of USDA foods to various agencies (covers 42 counties) throughout North Carolina. Some overnight travel is required. Selected applicant will be subject to a reference check, driver's license check, criminal background check, and Job Ready Services Fit Test.
