About The Position

The Food & Beverage Team Leader at Target is responsible for ensuring a fresh, full, and food-safe shopping experience for guests. This role involves leading a team to manage food and beverage operations, including inventory management, food safety, and guest service. The Team Leader will execute daily and weekly workloads to meet sales goals while fostering a guest-first culture within the team.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Age 18 or older.
  • Strong interest and knowledge of the Food & Beverage business.
  • Ability to lead and hold others accountable.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment.

  • Previous retail and/or food experience preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Understand sales goals and execute daily/weekly workload to deliver on department and store sales goals and guest engagement.
  • Execute a fresh, full, and food-safe area during all operating hours leveraging strong inventory management and Food Safety policies.
  • Assess Food & Beverage and Food Service areas to identify priorities and develop business plans.
  • Ensure proper execution on all food safety standards and cleaning routines.
  • Validate and follow-up on experts' progress against Daily Assignment Sheets and production area routines.
  • Work a schedule that aligns to guest and business needs, including early morning, evening, overnight shifts, and weekends.
  • Establish relationships with direct to store delivery (DSD) vendors to ensure brand standards are met.
  • Ensure accurate in-stocks by placing store-initiated orders with DSD distributors.
  • Lead team to uphold and maintain all Starbucks and Pizza Hut Brand Standards.
  • Evaluate candidates for open positions and develop a guest-centric team.
  • Participate in team onboarding and learning and close knowledge gaps through training.
  • Establish clear goals and expectations and hold team members accountable to expectations.
  • Become a subject matter expert in federal, state, and local adult beverage laws.
  • Complete all Starbucks and/or Pizza Hut training requirements or certifications.
  • Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience.
  • Support your Executive Team Leader to create a safety advocacy culture.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development.
  • Address store needs such as emergency and regulatory visits.
