About The Position

Palmetto Bluff is nestled along the May River in the Lowcountry of South Carolina between Hilton Head Island and Savannah. As an award winning 20,000 acre development, the development encompasses a private member’s only club which includes a marina, restaurants, an equestrian center, a shooting club, a Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, a lawn and racquet club, and more. In addition, Palmetto Bluff has an extensive nature preserve, walking trails, retail shopping, and a vibrant village, all which pay homage to the region’s rich heritage. Job Summary: The Food and Beverage Supervisor is responsible for supervision of the day to day functions of the department while providing excellent customer service, and actively contributing to the department requirements and standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years’ experience in customer service.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in Food and Beverage.
  • Excellent telephone etiquette.
  • Exceptional guest recovery skills.
  • Enjoy interacting with people in a fast paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Must possess a positive attitude.
  • Must be willing to participate in a learning environment.
  • Must integrate company values throughout all interactions.
  • Must be able to quickly adapt to effectively using new software products.
  • Must be dependable and available to work within the resort on weekends, nights and/or holidays based on business demands.
  • All Palmetto Bluff employees who serve alcohol or who oversee employees who serve alcohol must obtain or hold a valid SC-approved Alcohol Server Training Certificate (company reimbursed).

Nice To Haves

  • College Degree preferred
  • Minimum of one-year experience in a upscale or fine dining restaurant preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting the Department Manager in the development, implementation and maintenance of quality service standards
  • Ensuring food and beverages are being served in a professional and timely manner
  • Monitoring set up and maintenance of department to ensure all side work is complete
  • Interacting with guests to ensure a positive guest experience; attending daily pre-meal meetings
  • Conducting ongoing service training of department associates and assisting in the completion of daily shift reports
