About The Position

Come join our team as a Food & Beverage Manager. This associate is responsible for the daily operation, financial performance, and guest experience of Cloud Bar and President’s House Coffee at Omni Austin Hotel Downtown. This role ensures the highest levels of service, safety, cleanliness, and associate engagement while maintaining strict adherence to Omni standards, policies, and procedures. The Food & Beverage Manager leads front-of-house operations, drives revenue and profitability, develops associates, and maintains a strong presence on the floor and pool deck.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2–3 years of Food & Beverage management experience in a hotel or resort environment.
  • Strong knowledge of front-of-house operations, bar service, pool operations, and coffee service preferred.
  • Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Financial acumen with experience in labor management, forecasting, and P&L review.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and seasonal peak periods.
  • CPR or willingness to obtain certification.
  • Must have current TABC/Food Handlers Certifications.
  • Must be able to lift, pull, push 50lbs+.
  • Must be able to walk, stand up to 10+ hours shift.
  • Working Conditions: exposure to weather conditions, hazardous chemicals, and exposure to all food and beverage operations.

Responsibilities

  • Consistently ensure maximum guest satisfaction through active floor and pool deck leadership.
  • Maintain and refine service standards, steps of service, and overall guest flow.
  • Conduct daily pre-shift meetings to communicate service focus, promotions, safety reminders, and operational updates.
  • Monitor timing of service, table turnover, and guest engagement.
  • Handle guest concerns and complaints promptly and professionally to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Recognize repeat and VIP guests and ensure special attention details are executed properly.
  • Monitor guest feedback and comments related to food, beverage, and service quality.
  • Oversee daily front-of-house operations for Cloud Bar and President’s House Coffee.
  • Supervise service during all operating hours, including peak pool and seasonal business periods.
  • Ensure all service areas, side stations, and bar areas are fully stocked, organized, and operational.
  • Maintain cleanliness and physical condition of outlets, pool deck, furniture, equipment, and guest areas.
  • Ensure all equipment, beverage machines, coffee equipment, and point-of-sale systems are functioning properly.
  • Maintain proper atmosphere including lighting, music, and overall presentation.
  • Assist in service, seating, bar operations, or pool deck duties as business levels require.
  • Ensure all pool operations comply with Omni policies, safety regulations, and resort standards.
  • Enforce pool rules, liquor liability laws, and standards of conduct for guests and associates.
  • Schedule and conduct regular safety trainings and emergency preparedness drills.
  • Maintain close communication with leadership regarding incidents, guest concerns, or safety issues.
  • Maintain a visible leadership presence on the pool deck, assisting with towels, seating, umbrellas, and guest needs as required.
  • Recruit, hire, train, coach, and develop front-of-house associates.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels for all operating periods and seasonal demands.
  • Create and approve weekly schedules while adhering to forecasted productivity and labor targets.
  • Monitor associate performance, productivity, appearance, and adherence to uniform standards.
  • Promote cross-training and associate development opportunities.
  • Conduct regular meetings with supervisors to review operations, performance, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Plan and lead required monthly meetings in accordance with Omni SOPs.
  • Manage outlet profitability through effective labor control, cost management, and revenue growth.
  • Responsible for payroll management including punch edits, time adjustments, and payroll forecasting.
  • Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and monthly profit & loss reviews.
  • Conduct end-of-month food and beverage inventories in coordination with Culinary and Accounting.
  • Maintain accurate beverage, wine, china, glassware, linen, and uniform inventories.
  • Review and approve purchase requests prior to submission to the Director of Food & Beverage.
  • Ensure proper cashiering procedures, reconciliations, deposits, and adherence to accountability standards.
  • Conduct menu engineering and pricing analysis as required.
  • Drive revenue through up-selling, promotions, cabana sales, and merchandising initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to all Omni policies, procedures, and brand standards.
  • Enforce all liquor liability laws, including prevention of service to minors or intoxicated guests.
  • Ensure associates are knowledgeable in emergency procedures and accident prevention.
  • Maintain compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation standards.
