About The Position

The Food & Beverage Host at Harrah’s Cherokee Resort is responsible for providing excellent service to restaurant customers. This role involves greeting guests, seating them according to a rotation schedule, and ensuring a pleasant dining experience by managing guest concerns and building relationships. The host will also assist in drink orders, maintain cleanliness in the work area, and adhere to company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Six months prior food service experience preferred
  • CARE certified
  • Upbeat positive attitude
  • Legible handwriting
  • Willing to learn and be adaptable
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, or divide quickly and correctly
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills required
  • Attention to detail/observant
  • Documented teamwork behaviors and attitudes
  • Neat, professional appearance with excellent personal hygiene

Responsibilities

  • Establish and endorse the business objectives, ethics and values of Caesars Entertainment in accordance with the Code of Commitment and Mission, Vision and Values
  • Greet guests; seat them in restaurant according to rotation schedule
  • Operate ProHost or a computerized seating and reservation system
  • Provide guests with menus and inform them of specials
  • Keep work area neat and clean
  • Handle/solve guests’ concerns
  • Build relationships with customers
  • Abide by appearance standards
  • Delight guests with outstanding service
  • Ensure service recovery activities
  • Exhibit sound decision-making with emphasis on motivating team and maintaining high morale
  • Participate as a member of the team by volunteering and being involved with projects, committees, and task forces
  • Take drink orders, communicate with bartender, assist in the preparation of drinks and present drinks to guests
  • Assist Server by taking initial beverage order when necessary
  • Assist Service Assistants &/or Servers with clearing, cleaning & resetting tables as needed
  • Monitor guest consumption of alcohol and intervene as needed according to guidelines
  • Follow guidelines of the EBCI liquor laws as defined by the Tribal ABC Board
  • Adhere to regulatory, departmental and company policies/procedures in an ethical manner
