About The Position

The Food & Beverage Director at City Cruises in Philadelphia is responsible for managing the food and beverage team, ensuring high-quality service and customer satisfaction while maintaining profitability. This role involves overseeing recruitment, training, and development of staff, as well as executing the product management guidelines to deliver a seamless experience for guests. The director will work closely with the General Manager and other department heads to develop budgets, strategic plans, and coordinate local activities with national directives.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years' experience as a food & beverage leader in a high-volume environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline required.
  • Experience in budgeting and forecasting is required.
  • Extensive hands-on food and beverage knowledge and experience, including multiple outlets and P&L responsibilities.
  • Ability to manage restaurant staff and direct management level staff effectively.
  • Knowledge of responsible alcohol service requirements and health department sanitation codes.
  • Proven success in cost and wage control.

Nice To Haves

  • TIPS Trainer Certification/Trainer knowledge.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the food & beverage team, both front and back-of-the-house.
  • Oversee the execution of the product to ensure high levels of quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Direct the efforts of the Food & Beverage team and coach Restaurant & Kitchen Managers.
  • Identify training needs for Food & Beverage management team members and provide coaching.
  • Establish department priorities based on long-term vision and execute against them.
  • Develop Food & Beverage budgets in collaboration with the General Manager.
  • Participate in the development of the city's strategic business plan.
  • Maintain close liaison between the Food & Beverage Department and other departments.
  • Recruit new Restaurant Managers and Kitchen Managers as needed.
  • Provide ongoing performance feedback and coaching to Food & Beverage team members.
  • Resolve guest problems utilizing strong customer service skills.
  • Monitor and control costs associated with restaurant operations according to budget.
  • Increase onboard revenue sources and develop programs to enhance revenues.
