About The Position

At Cowabunga Vegas, Food and Beverage Cooks play a key role in delivering delicious food and great guest experiences. Cooks are responsible for preparing, cooking, and assembling menu items across a variety of park locations, including Bullwinkle's Grille, Pink’s Hotdogs, Ben’s Soft Pretzels, Kiosk locations, and Catering. Cooks work with kitchen equipment such as grills, fryers, warmers, smokers and ovens while ensuring food is prepped, cooked, held and served safely and efficiently.

Requirements

Must be 16 years of age or older.
Must have or obtain a valid Food Handler’s permit.
Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
May be required to lift 25–50 lbs.
May be required to work in various weather conditions, such as direct sunlight, high temperatures, or rain.
Must be able to multitask and remain flexible in a fast-paced environment.
Must be able to communicate in a positive and professional manner and work well with others.

Responsibilities

Prepare, cook, and perform temperature checks on applicable food items in accordance with departmental procedures.
Assemble and serve menu items according to departmental procedures in various roles such as prep, cook, catering, fryer, griller, expo, etc.
Complete daily restocking, cleaning tasks and dishwashing assigned by departmental leadership, as well as weekly deep cleaning tasks.
Keep workstations, equipment, floors, windows, carts, coolers, freezers and any other supplies used clean, organized, and properly sanitized in compliance with health department and Cowabunga Vegas standards.
Ensure products are fresh and that FIFO (first in, first out) is followed to maintain proper product rotation.
Ensure compliance with all Health Department regulations while maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment.
Properly operate assigned tools such as knives, pizza cutters, can openers and all equipment used in the assigned outlet's operation
Safely operate equipment such as dollies and pallet jacks.
Follow all food handling protocols, including preventing time and temperature abuse.
Provide outstanding customer service.
Comply with all Pyek Group, Cowabunga Vegas, and Food & Beverage policies and procedures.
Proactively identify operational and equipment issues and collaborate with leadership to resolve them.
Maintain knowledge of POS systems, food handling equipment, cleaning protocols, and safety procedures.
Embody Cowabunga Vegas’s moment making keys of intentionality, Cowabunga-friendliness, safety, cleanliness, and fun throughout all departments.
Assist with other responsibilities, roles, departments, or park locations as assigned.
