About The Position

The Food & Beverage Assistant Manager at Marriott Austin North is responsible for ensuring attentive, friendly, courteous, and efficient service in all food and beverage outlets, including Room Service, Lounge, and Banquets. This role involves working closely with F&B leadership to improve sales revenues and maintain adherence to budgeted payroll and overhead costs. The Assistant Manager is expected to manage staff, handle guest requests, and ensure compliance with company standards and regulations.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field, or a 2-year college degree with 3 years of related experience, or a 4-year college degree with at least 1 year of related experience.
  • Proficient in Windows operating systems and company-approved spreadsheets and word processing.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Ability to convey information and ideas clearly.
  • Ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
  • Ability to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.
  • Effective problem-solving skills in the workplace.
  • Ability to understand financial information and basic arithmetic functions.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in assuring attentive and efficient service in all F&B outlets.
  • Work towards improving Restaurant, Room Service, Lounge, and Banquet sales revenues.
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with hotel standards.
  • Ensure high standards of personal appearance and grooming.
  • Comply with safety and operational standards of Aimbridge Hospitality.
  • Train all Food and Beverage/Banquet personnel according to company standards.
  • Handle guest requests, problems, and complaints effectively.
  • Motivate, coach, counsel, and discipline F&B personnel as needed.
  • Prepare employee shift schedules according to business forecasts and payroll guidelines.
  • Conduct employee performance appraisals according to company standards.
  • Develop and implement Food and Beverage promotional ideas.
  • Ensure compliance with company training and operational standards.
  • Conduct monthly beverage inventories and reconciliations.
  • Maintain communication with all employees and promote a positive work environment.
