The F&B Accountant for the Food & Beverage Division will play a crucial role in managing the general accounting functions specific to this division. This position is responsible for a variety of routine and non-routine accounting tasks, with a significant focus on the month-end close process and balance sheet reviews that are directly related to the Food and Beverage operations. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the F&B Accountant will ensure the accuracy of the general ledger for Food & Beverage locations and will collaborate closely with location managers to ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), company policies, and contractual obligations. In this role, the F&B Accountant will support the Food & Beverage accounts in their daily accounting needs, which include cash and banking, accounts payable processing, payroll activities, and reconciliations. The accountant will also prepare pre-event paperwork and reconcile event revenue for Concessions, Catering, and Merchandise. Additionally, the F&B Accountant will work alongside the HR Manager to ensure that all training is completed and that all HR, Accounting, and Food & Beverage policies and procedures are adhered to. The position requires the preparation and reporting of monthly operating results to the Director of Facility Accounting, along with variance explanations. The F&B Accountant will also be responsible for preparing monthly financial statements to ensure compliance with GAAP and contractual obligations. This role will assist the Director of Finance in developing and implementing standardized financial reporting packages, including the creation of ad-hoc analyses and reports. The accountant will provide both direct and indirect support to field personnel and coordinate with field operations to address complex accounting issues and problem-solving activities. Moreover, the F&B Accountant will review financial statements with the Food & Beverage Department and the Director of Finance, providing summaries of activity and financial impact to the Corporate Food & Beverage Finance Staff. The role also involves assisting with corporate reporting and conducting internal audits of field locations to monitor internal controls. The accountant will oversee tax filings and liquor license renewals, evaluate monthly financial statement closing packages for compliance with ASM policies, and develop consistent reporting requirements. The position may also involve supervising part-time Food & Beverage staff as needed and participating in special projects as required by management.
