About The Position

The Part-Time Food Bank Driver is responsible for the safe and timely pickup of food donations and supplies. This role supports the food bank’s mission by ensuring food is transported efficiently to distribution site while maintaining high standards of safety, professionalism, and customer service.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Ability to operate box trucks (CDL not required)
• Ability to lift and move heavy items up to 50lbs
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Understanding of general vehicle maintenance

Nice To Haves

• Previous delivery or warehouse experience
• Knowledge of food safety standards
• Experience working with nonprofit or community organizations

Responsibilities

• Pick up food donations from grocery stores and community partners
• Deliver food and supplies to distribution site
• Load and unload food items safely, including lifting up to 50 lbs
• Inspect donated items for quality and proper handling
• Maintain accurate Pick up logs and records
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report maintenance issues
• Follow all traffic laws and safety procedures
• Assist in warehouse organization and food sorting when needed
• Represent the food bank professionally in the community
• Take truck to maintenance appointments and monitor truck for issues
