About The Position

As a Food Assembly and Fabrication Associate in our production facility, you are responsible for preparing, organizing, assembling, and packaging items for the menus served at our restaurants.

Requirements

  • 6+ months of experience in food manufacturing production working in a high volume and high standards environment (commissary, hotel, restaurant or high-end foodservice establishment)
  • 6+ months of experience using technology such as smart phones and tablets, inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
  • Food Safety and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) guideline knowledge including proper protein food safety temperatures and "danger zone" food temperatures
  • Strong knowledge of culinary processes, food product identification, and recipe execution
  • Ability to perform various cutting techniques (dicing, slicing, julienning, etc.) with speed and precision
  • Accurate use of measuring tools (scales, thermometers, calipers) and comfort with metric systems and kitchen tech
  • Proficient in safely operating standard food manufacturing equipment
  • Familiarity with FIFO and basic inventory procedures
  • Ability to work effectively in team environments
  • 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the US
  • Able to lift, pull, and push 50 pounds of weight by oneself
  • Able to stand a full shift while working
  • Comfortable working in various temperatures including cold environments (34-40 degrees Fahrenheit depending on site) and occasional freezer temperatures that can range anywhere from 0-10 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Ability to communicate effectively as needed to carry out job functions, including reading, writing and basic arithmetic (addition and subtraction)
  • Able to work evenings and weekends

Nice To Haves

  • ServSafe food handling certificate or equivalent desired

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, portion, and assemble food items (e.g., sandwiches, salads, meal kits, etc.) according to standardized recipes and presentation guidelines
  • Measure, handle, wash, cut, slice, dice, and otherwise prepare raw ingredients (fruits, vegetables, meats, etc.) while ensuring freshness, quality, and proper storage using First In, First Out (FIFO) and temperature controls
  • Safely operate and maintain kitchen equipment (e.g., slicers, mixers, food processors, scales, wrapping machines, labeling devices, etc.)
  • Inspect ingredients and finished products to maintain quality standards and report issues as needed
  • Package and label food items accurately with required information
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the cold kitchen area, tools, and storage, adhering to food safety and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate restocking needs
  • Cross train within various tasks
  • Support training initiatives
  • Complete other duties as assigned
