About The Position

The Food and Nutritional Service Associate at HCA Florida Orange Park Hospital plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of meal services within the Food and Nutrition Services Department. This part-time position involves preparing meal tickets, assisting with food preparation, and ensuring the accuracy of meal delivery to patients. The associate acts as a shift lead, coordinating with team members to maintain organization and efficiency during meal times.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older.
• No degree required.
• Must obtain a Food Handler Card within 30 Days of Hire.
• Applicable work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and ensure accuracy of meal tickets for patient meals.
• Read and understand printed messages regarding patient meals and preferences.
• Ensure patient services area is ready for each meal service.
• Distribute Tally Guide to cooks and Ambassadors.
• Assist with food preparation as needed.
• Perform tray double checks and allergy checks before carts are delivered to patients.
• Take orders over the phone as needed.
• Answer patient and nursing phone calls and check voicemail.
• Use computer programs to manage applicable tasks and file necessary paperwork after shifts.
• Maintain organization throughout each shift and keep the diet office clean.
• Assist other team members with daily tasks and communicate effectively.
