About The Position

HCA Florida Citrus Hospital is seeking a Food and Nutrition Services Assistant to join their team. This role involves performing a variety of tasks related to food service, including delivering and picking up patient trays and menus, recording patient consumption, and maintaining diet checklists. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 6 months food service experience preferred, with previous experience in hospital food services preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine duties related to preparation and serving of food.
• Prepare food for cooking by washing, peeling, shredding, slicing, and mixing various food items.
• Operate dishwasher or assist with washing/sterilizing dishes, glassware, silverware, utensils, pots, pans, etc.
• Clean kitchen work areas and collect and dispose of garbage.
• Assist with food stocking.
• Serve food in cafeteria for visitors and staff and in patient rooms.
• Work in the dish room when needed.
• Work on patient tray assembly line following menu directives for determining food items for each tray.
• Follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
