About The Position

The Food and Nutrition Services Assistant at HCA Florida Northside Hospital plays a vital role in enhancing the patient experience by performing various tasks related to food preparation, serving, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness. This position is essential for ensuring that patients receive their meals in a timely and efficient manner, contributing to their overall care and satisfaction.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • 6 months food service experience preferred; previous experience in hospital food services preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine duties related to preparation and serving of food.
  • Prepare food for cooking by washing, peeling, shredding, slicing, and mixing various food items.
  • Operate dishwasher or assist with washing/sterilizing dishes, glassware, silverware, utensils, pots, pans, etc.
  • Clean kitchen work areas, collect and dispose of garbage.
  • Assist with food stocking.
  • Serve food in cafeteria for visitors and staff and in patient room.
  • Work in the dish room when needed.
  • Work on patient tray assembly line following menu directives for determining food items for each tray.
  • Follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
