About The Position

The position is responsible for all floor operations at Indiana Grand Casino, including holding pre-shift meetings, assigning stations, managing break schedules, evaluating and documenting performance, and addressing guest opportunities and team member issues. The role involves updating the logbook, requisitioning and issuing products, auditing clock-in records, evaluating equipment and stock levels, and ensuring all areas are in working order. The supervisor will communicate with outgoing and incoming supervisors/managers, evaluate side work, and supervise all staff. Additionally, the position includes training new hourly and supervisory team members, conducting periodic performance evaluations, and managing documentation related to attendance, discipline, incidents, and schedules. The supervisor must maintain a working knowledge of all equipment, including liquor and soda dispensing systems, and have a comprehensive understanding of products, recipes, prices, and internal control procedures. The role also involves scheduling, managing overages and shortages, and adhering to Indiana Safety and Health guidelines. The supervisor is expected to maximize profits and efficiency through personal and subordinate staff duties, develop menus, and create standard operating procedures for food preparation using various cooking techniques.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; College degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a high volume, buffet or ala carte restaurant environment.
  • Casino experience preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests, team members, and management.
  • Proficient in computer applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Certified in an approved alcohol awareness course.
  • Ability to obtain/renew required licenses or certifications, specifically Indiana Gaming License.
