About The Position

The Host/Hostess position will be engaged in the support of the F&B Supervisors and Manager in the service of guests in a restaurant environment by greeting and seating guests as they enter the restaurant, including server station rotation, managing wait times, clearing of tables, as well as other duties as assigned. Note - this position will not involve any function involving casino gambling by patrons.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year experience in the Food & Beverage Service Industry as a Restaurant Host/Hostess or similar position preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate in English.
• Math skills and the ability to multi-task.
• Basic food and beverage knowledge.
• Familiarity with seating charts and digital seating systems preferred.
• Certification in Serve Safe Food Sanitation and Serve Safe Alcohol Awareness.
• Hold an Indiana ATC (Alcohol & Tobacco Commission) License.
• Scheduling flexibility, may be required to work weekends, holidays, overnight, or overtime.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with high volume or gourmet fast-paced production.
• Knowledge of HACCP guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and seat them appropriately.
• Rotate guests through server stations and manage wait times.
• Assist with table reset as needed per specifications established by management.
• Provide responsible and legal alcohol service, including checking identification and refusing service to intoxicated guests.
• Follow steps of service to meet minimum guest expectations in quality, quantity, friendliness, and courtesy.
• Maintain standards of sanitation, bar and personal hygiene, and cleanliness.
• Display knowledge of all emergency procedures.
• Communicate consistently with supervisors about department activities.
• Ensure that bar and equipment are in good working order and that the work area is clean and hazard-free.
• Work with co-workers and management in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
