About The Position

Effective July 1, 2025, in accordance with the applicable Memorandum of Understanding, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) was implemented. PLP 2025 requires each full-time employee in Bargaining Unit 19, and related Excluded, Exempt and Statutory Exempt employees, will have their base salary reduced by 3 percent and will receive 5 hours PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027. Salaries do not reflect the recent changes. Part-time employees are subject to the same conditions as full-time employees, on a prorated basis equivalent to their time-base. Permanent intermittent employees are subject to the same condition as full-time employees, based on the number of hours worked in the pay period. Under the direction of the Correctional Food Administrator II, the Food Administrator I plans, organized and directs all food service and dietary activity in Health Services, including the therapeutic diet program in the Licensed Correctional Treatment Center (CTC); assigns and provides guidance to staff relating to the provision on nutritional care; supervises, as well as organizes the conduct training programs for, staff and inmates; protects and maintains the safety of person and property; and supervises the requisition , receipt, inspection, storage and inventory of supplies.

Requirements

  • One year of experience in California state service performing the duties of a Dietitian.
  • One year of experience in a hospital as a dietitian, nutritionist, or food service manager, with responsibility for the technical direction of a group of diet pantry employees. AND Education: Equivalent to graduation from college and completion of an approved internship in institutional management or dietetics. (Membership in the American Dietetic Association or eligibility for such membership may be substituted for the required internship.)
  • Three years of experience as a dietitian, nutritionist, or food service manager with responsibility for the technical direction of a group of dietary unit employees, one year of which must have been under the supervision of a professionally trained dietitian. AND Education: Equivalent to graduation from college with a Bachelor's Degree in Foods, Nutrition, or Institution Management.
