Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years folding machine and general machine operation experience
  • Knowledge of finishing equipment and machinery
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control
  • Able to read job jackets, instructions, and measurements accurately
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to differentiate colors and perform common calculations
  • Team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Capable of using manual or powered jacks and occasionally working overtime

Responsibilities

  • Set up and adjust folding machine, including feeder, folding plates, and delivery.
  • Configure machine for special processes (perforating, scoring, slitting/trimming, gluing, softening, etc.).
  • Start machine, run sample sheets, and check for accuracy and quality.
  • Inspect products visually and with measuring tools; submit samples to supervisor for approval.
  • Monitor materials off the machine to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Tag completed work with description and operator name; follow packing instructions.
  • Record material usage, production counts, and process codes accurately.
  • Load and maintain supply of sheets and printed materials.
  • Complete production records (time sheets, job jackets, etc.).
  • Perform preventative maintenance: lubrication, adjustments, small parts replacement, and cleaning.
  • Maintain and use all tools and instruments for machine operation.
  • Report needed parts or service to supervisor to ensure machine performance.
  • Follow safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe production areas.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
  • Assist with inventory counts and restocking supplies.
  • Adhere to quality standards, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
