About The Position

Family owned and operated for over 50 years , Mamoun’s Falafel is the oldest falafel restaurant in NYC and one of the first Middle Eastern brands in the country. Our culture is driven by the legacy established by our founder, Mamoun, whose commitment to excellence and passion for hospitality transformed a small, hole-in-the-wall eatery into a premier falafel brand and a NYC landmark. Our mission is to serve fresh, authentic Middle Eastern food as quickly and as friendly as possible while creating an atmosphere that is energetic, upbeat, welcoming, and responsive for both guests and staff. We are now accepting applications for Cashiers to join our team. Our cashiers are the ambassadors of our restaurants and handle all major aspects of our customer service, including taking orders and communicating with our guests, packaging and handing off orders , and keeping the restaurant clean while assisting fellow FOH team members.

Requirements

• Positive and friendly attitude
• Ability to speak, see, hear, read, and write
• Ability to multi-task (perform multiple functions at the same time)
• Ability to bend, stoop, stand, and walk for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift and carry at least 30 lbs and perform other diverse physical tasks as needed
• Develop thorough knowledge of our menu (taught during training)
• Execute standard operating procedures for all FOH positions (taught during training)
• Execute opening and closing checklists (taught during training)

Responsibilities

• Taking orders and communicating with our guests
• Packaging and handing off orders
• Keeping the restaurant clean while assisting fellow FOH team members

Benefits

• Great Pay – our pay rates start at $16 - $18 per hour PLUS an extra $1-$3 per hour in tips!
• $200 Signing Bonus – receive $100 after your first 45 days (based on at least 100 total hours worked) and an additional $100 after 45days (based on at least 200 total hours worked). (Only available for first time hires.)
