We serve a customer base with a variety of dietary restrictions including vegan, gluten-sensitive, dairy-free, etc. Must be a true team player by respecting all staff, proving dependability and showing initiative. Green Sage is open from 8am-4pm. Shifts are available between the hours of 7am-5pm so no late nights are required. This position is a FT role 4-5 days a week and combines the basic FOH duties of our Barista/Server position with the additional duties of being the Shift Leader in our busy Downtown location cafe. Shift Leader responsibilities include being available to open and close the cafe, cash handling and counting, nightly closing admin, ensuring daily FOH checklists get completed, managing POS discounts and refunds and assisting the store GM in leading the team. The ideal candidate needs to have solid experience with making espresso drinks, taking orders, running food and multi-tasking as well as prior experience with setting cash tills, cash handling and being a key holder. The person needs to be responsible and reliable, have a great work ethic and be able to uphold company standards. The Barista’s primary role is to take customer orders, prepare hot and cold beverages and serve menu items to guests with friendly, individualized attention with the goal of giving all customers the best experience possible in the front of the house. In addition to the specific duties of the position all team members are expected to uphold the six expectations of the Green Sage culture. Requirements

  • Must have weekend availability
  • Be able to work in a fast paced restaurant environment
  • Ability to work on your feet for six hours or more a day
  • Excellent verbal communication and organization skills
  • Be friendly, outgoing
  • Previous fast casual, cafe or restaurant experience

Responsibilities

  • Being available to open and close the cafe
  • Cash handling and counting
  • Nightly closing admin
  • Ensuring daily FOH checklists get completed

  • Deliver orders to customers quickly and accurately
  • Handle customer requests and issues properly and with pleasant demeanor
  • Maintain dining areas by bussing, wiping tables and general dining area maintenance
  • Complete preparation, restocking, cleaning, side work, opening and closing duties per company checklists
  • Assist with dishwashing, order receiving or other duties as requested by Shift Leader
  • Be responsible for keys and alarm codes to open and close the store correctly and safely
  • Count cash in the safe and tills; set and cash out tills daily; prepare daily cash deposits
  • Perform daily opening and closing admin and operational procedures
  • Be responsible for the use of manager access PINS and passwords assigned
  • Participate in maintaining the positive culture of Green Sage
