About The Position
The Food Production Specialist 1 (FPS 1) operates under the direct supervision of the Dietary Director and is responsible for a variety of patient and cafeteria food service duties. This role includes assisting with tray assembly, transporting food carts, delivering trays to patient care units, and returning them. The FPS 1 is also responsible for all ware washing for retail and patient services, which includes flatware, china, glassware, and kitchen pots and pans. Additionally, the FPS 1 will empty tray carts in the cafeteria and perform sanitation tasks as assigned, such as trash removal. Maintaining high standards of food and physical safety, sanitation, and proper use and care of equipment and tools is essential. The FPS 1 will follow proper labeling, rotation, and quality control practices and will be cross-trained on other duties throughout the food service department. The position requires the ability to work with little or no supervision, adhere to posted work schedules, payroll procedures, and attendance guidelines. Flexibility in working hours, days off, and overtime may be required based on operational workloads. A professional appearance and demeanor must be maintained at all times, in compliance with department standards and policies. The FPS 1 is expected to promote teamwork and serve as a positive role model for fellow team members, working efficiently under strict time deadlines. The role may also involve assisting in other areas as needed and performing additional duties as assigned.
