About The Position

Astrion has an exciting opportunity for FMS Engineering Management Support/FMS Production, Manufacturing and Assembly Engineer for the ISR/SOF contract, supporting the Air Force Division. The position is located at Wright Patterson AFB in Dayton, OH.

Requirements

  • Security Clearance: Tier 3/Secret Security Clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree or master's degree in a related field and at least 3 years of experience in the respective technical/profession discipline being performed, 3 years of which must be in the DoD.
  • OR 7 years of directly related experience with proper certifications, 5 years of which must be in the DoD.

Responsibilities

  • Translate FMS user requirements into system requirements used by the weapon system contractor to design, develop, fabricate, test and evaluate systems, subsystems and equipment for deployment.
  • Assist in performing technical/mission analysis of operational requirements, assist in developing system concepts, and perform technological/trade-off study assessments of proposed designs.
  • Assist with processes for drafting project documentation including SOOs and SOWs, program plans, schedules and presentations.
  • Assist in drafting regulatory and statutory documentation to include but not limited to the SEP and life cycle management plans.
  • Assist in reviewing Contractor documents and data, and technical proposals or modifications for cost, design feasibility and system compatibility.
  • Assist in the support of the evaluation of IMP, IMS and SEDS engineering cost estimates.
  • Assist in the evaluation of systems test plans and participate in the conduct of system, subsystem, and component testing, and provide systems integration support for the acquisition, development, and verification of systems and equipment.
  • Provide expert assessment and review of various FMS efforts to identify risks in manufacture and assembly of systems.
  • Participate in technical evaluations across the directorate FMS efforts as production and manufacturing experts.
  • Experience with low-volume aircraft and/or sensor production and knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems in support of FMS.
  • Assist during FMS contract negotiation and award.
