Join our enthusiastic and dedicated team this summer! www.summer.waynflete.org Excited about sharing your passion for experiential and hands-on science with young campers? We are looking for a Flyers Camp Art Specialist who is ready to jump right into planning and delivering fun summer activities and experiences for our K-2nd grade campers daily! Flyers Camp Specialists report to the Camp Director and support the Program Director during camp sessions.

Requirements

  • 18+ years of age
  • Experience teaching in experiential science to children (ages 4-13) as a camp counselor, educator, etc.
  • Experience in a leadership role in a similar setting
  • First Aid / CPR / AED certified, or willing to certify before June 15th, 2026
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Previous experience with diverse populations

Responsibilities

  • Execute all daily camp activities and tasks as proposed by the Program Director and Leadership Team.
  • Before the camp season begins, plan activities and coordinate materials needed with the Program Director for each camp session based on the theme of the week.
  • Lead small groups of Flyers Campers (Kindergarten - 2nd Grade) in creative and exciting projects, using various formats and adhering to the weekly theme. Examples include: Baking projects STEAM challenges Science experiments Making slime
  • Lead lessons with enthusiasm, creativity and professionalism.
  • Assist with camper check-in and check-out responsibilities.
  • Organize and supervise campers throughout the camp day.
  • Complete morning prep and end of day clean up responsibilities.
  • Communicate camper incidents in a timely manner to the Program Director.
  • Proactively address any issues or concerns that could impact our campers’ experience or program quality in partnership with Program Directors.
  • Lead by example in respect and care for the community and campus.
  • Create group unity by building a safe and inclusive environment for campers and counselors.
  • Keep the safety of campers and the camp team in mind at all times.
  • Attend all required staff meetings and pre-season training sessions.
