You listen, diagnose, and guide them to a fix—sometimes from your desk in Bryan, OH, and other times shoulder‑to‑shoulder in the field. You translate complex specifications, keep people safe, and make decisions that get factories back online. Your mission Be the technical go-to for industrial diaphragm and piston pumps, electric pumps, pneumatic valves and cylinders, pneumatic logic, and FRLs (filters, regulators, lubricators). Own the customer journey from selection and spec interpretation through installation, maintenance coaching, troubleshooting, and resolution. Lead field-level closures: coordinate repairs or replacements and elevate cases through the Quality Management System as needed. Equip commercial teams—review and proof technical catalogs and collateral. Influence new designs by voicing serviceability, quality, and reliability requirements. Run demos, assist with setup/installation, and conduct training for partners, end users, and colleagues. Publish training materials and knowledge base articles that scale your expertise. Exercise service-related decision authority on behalf of Ingersoll Rand. Diagnose electronic controllers interfacing with pneumatic diaphragm and electric pumps. Coach customers on electrical/electronic and pneumatic safety procedures. Guide startups and commissioning to successful handoff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Technical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years in technical customer service or application engineering.
  • Customer-first: You anticipate needs and deliver standout service.
  • Connector: You communicate clearly across stakeholders and channels—spoken, written, email, chat.
  • Diagnostician: You chase root causes and close issues quickly.
  • Mechanically savvy: You’re fluent in pneumatics and electromechanical systems, remotely and onsite.

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of pneumatic and electrical/electronic components and use cases.
  • Comfort with technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and work instructions.
  • Ingersoll Rand service certifications: Piston Pump, Diaphragm Pump, Fluid Power.
  • Background with PLCs, IoT, and SCADA.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English.
