About The Position

Novaspect, Inc., an Emerson Impact Partner, the global leader of automation systems and solutions, is currently offering an opportunity for an experienced Instrumentation Technician in our fast paced, customer-oriented Field Services team. The Instrumentation Technician will work with our sales force and project teams in the development, delivery, on-going maintenance and optimization of our state-of-the-art process control solutions for our industrial customers. This role will be traveling throughout the state of North Dakota, while also covering any potential needs within our upper Midwest territory.

Requirements

  • Technical Degree or Certification in electrical or flow process discipline.
  • 2+ years of experience in the industrial automation and instrumentation field.
  • Familiarity with Rosemont, Micro Motion, and Endress+Hauser instrumentation.
  • Expertise with calibrating and troubleshooting measurement instrumentation.
  • Experience managing customer projects and working independently.
  • Currently holding a valid driver’s license.
  • Participation in on-call rotation with existing technical staff.
  • Proficient with MS Office suite.

Responsibilities

  • Performs on-site demand and contract field services to support installed base of process control flow instrumentation and equipment.
  • Troubleshooting failed instruments and equipment including diagnostics, developing a solution to resolve any problems including calibration, repair, upgrade, or replacement.
  • Replacing/installing instrumentation and equipment including startup and commissioning.
  • Verifying, troubleshooting and resolving instrumentation and equipment communications.
  • Inspecting instrument wiring, power and grounding of installation.
  • Setting up instruments with Emerson Trex field communicator.
  • Working with onsite installation crew.
  • Installing and calibrating flow measurement equipment.
  • Providing maintenance training.
  • Providing process control instrument and equipment phone support.
  • Effective and prompt response to customer requests or inquiries.
  • Providing clear and effective documentation of services provided to customers.
  • Traveling to customer facilities.
  • Partnering with Sales team to execute tactics and strategies to improve customer satisfaction and service growth through available service programs.
  • Reporting performance measures towards goals.
  • Timely completion of all required reports, certificates, and relevant documents.
  • Actively owning safety for themselves and those around them through adherence to all safety and quality rules, and regulations.
