Description KEY RESONSIBILITIES: Under the Director's supervision, performs routine and specialized clinical laboratory procedures pertaining to acquisition, preparation and analysis of specimens by flow cytometry. Provides cell-sorting services to researchers to include sorting of potentially biohazardous samples. Handles routine maintenance of instruments, including troubleshooting and repair of electronics, fluids, lasers, and computer components. Serves as a key resource in technical and scientific areas related to scientific consulting services, including experimental design, sample preparation, and protocol development for a diverse array of users from multiple disciplines, including immunology, oncology, biochemistry, hematology, and pathology. Performs related responsibilities as required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors degree in medical technology or a biological science OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience working in a flow cytometry core is desired but not necessary. A basic understanding of Flow Cytometry is required. NOTE: Position tasks are required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location; working remote is not an option. Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
