The Floral Manager provides direct leadership to floral department crew members, encompassing planning, assigning work, conducting performance evaluations, coaching, administering discipline, and offering training and development opportunities. This role involves actively participating in and mentoring crew members to enthusiastically sell floral products, managing the training process for new hires, and completing necessary HR documentation. The manager is responsible for conducting daily team huddles to communicate sales goals and reinforce guest service expectations. Key operational duties include ordering ingredients, products, and supplies, checking in and organizing received orders, and preparing floral products such as arrangements, balloons, and houseplants according to company procedures. The position requires writing daily plans and weekly work schedules, ensuring the execution of in-store floral programs and corporate promotions in collaboration with the Floral Sales Manager. Inventory control, merchandise rotation, display maintenance, POS system management, and accurate record-keeping for damaged goods are also critical. The Floral Manager must comply with workplace safety rules, maintain a clean and sanitized work area, acquire product knowledge across departments, stay updated on company promotions, and foster a collaborative team environment. The store operates seven days a week, which may necessitate weekend, holiday, and shift work.
