The manager also oversees product freshness, responds to special occasion merchandise requirements, sales trends, and promotions, and performs receiving duties. Adherence to product temperature, storage guidelines, proper packaging, conditioning, and handling of plants and flowers are crucial. The role also involves controlling shrink and cost, ensuring proper signing and pricing, conducting inventories, processing administrative paperwork, and meeting sales and profit objectives. The manager must also ensure safety, cleanliness, and sanitation of the work area and equipment.
