Position Overview The Floral & Design Consultant will be responsible for all design and décor elements for contracted clients as assigned. The Floral & Design Consultant will meet with clients to outline the clients' vision for their special day and then will incorporate their vast experience and knowledge of event design, retail and wholesale purchasing and merchandising, along with their ability to assist with overseeing and managing a team of designers to create exceptional designs including floral arrangements and décor elements to exceed our client’s expectations.

Requirements

  • Experience in Floral Designing, Hospitality, or Event Management is preferred
  • Must have advanced computer skills, including working with the Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel), Aisle Planner, Google Documents, etc.
  • Must be available to work varied schedules to include evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours of business
  • Able to work under pressure and remain calm to resolve problems using excellent judgment
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team
  • Possess a passion for the visual storytelling of a brand
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including positive interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organization skills and time management skills, and be a self-starter with the ability to work independently or under minimal supervision, and the ability to take full ownership of a task or project, and present ideas clearly and effectively

  • Possess and maintain a current California Driver's License with a satisfactory and safe driving record
  • Will be required to travel to other locations within the portfolio on a frequent basis, including starting your shift at different properties.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work both independently and in collaborative/cross-functional team settings, with and without supervision
  • Practice safe working habits and take appropriate rest breaks and meal periods in a timely manner

Responsibilities

  • Schedule consultations with booked clients and put together a proposal with all items the client chooses (floral, décor, rentals, entertainment)
  • Create a payment schedule and collect payments in a timely manner
  • Answer email and phone calls involving wedding décor detail or set-up questions and give appropriate suggestions
  • Maintain and update “Honey Do” list to foresee any upcoming rental items that we may to have on hand
  • Maintain payment schedules, year-end totals, record keeping, etc.
  • Special order any product and purchase any items needed to maintain an accurate inventory
  • Maintain all Luxe Design & Decor accounting and report to Accounting Manager
  • Coordinate multiple weddings and events and meet tight deadlines without compromising quality
  • Maintain knowledge of current wedding design décor trends
  • Coordinate with team to set-up all linen, draping, and rental items
  • Create Up-Lighting Color Codes and create and order custom Gobos and Monograms, and order photo booth props and supplies
  • Daily ordering of supplies and perishable products
  • Assist with recruiting and interviewing employees for Luxe Design & Decor
  • Create and maintain employee schedules
  • Make sure employees are practicing safe working habits and taking their appropriate rest and meal breaks in a timely manner
  • Train employees on Luxe Design & Decor department processes and procedures
  • Supervise the building of floral designs to ensure each arrangement meets our quality and design standards
  • Follow up with a thank you email or call to all clients
  • Perform all other job duties as requested by management
