About The Position

The Floral Department Manager is responsible for implementing all company and division policies to achieve maximum sales and profits in the Floral department. This role requires modeling and demonstrating the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety of others. The position involves working weekends and holidays, effective communication skills, and the ability to make intelligent decisions quickly. The manager must possess strong Florist Transworld Delivery computer and organizational skills, handle stressful situations tactfully, and make a positive impression on associates and customers. A thorough understanding of all key components of department operations, including floral arrangement and care of plants and cut flowers, is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Implement company and division policies to maximize sales and profits in the Floral department.
  • Model and demonstrate core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.
  • Develop maximum customer relations through personal example of friendliness and courtesy.
  • Handle customer complaints perceptively and effectively.
  • Supervise and coach direct reports in their duties, complete performance reviews, and provide feedback.
  • Plan, organize, direct, and control the activities of the Floral Department.
  • Direct the receiving, storing, pricing, and merchandising of all floral products.
  • Order supplies to maintain adequate stock and guard against waste and pilferage.
  • Maintain and submit required records and reports effectively.
  • Analyze all aspects of the Floral Department and make recommendations to the store manager.
  • Promote and implement company initiatives and process improvements positively.
