About The Position

The Floral Department Manager is responsible for implementing all company and division policies to achieve maximum sales and profits in the Floral department. This role requires modeling and demonstrating the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety of others. The position involves working weekends and holidays, and effective written and verbal communication skills are essential. The manager must be able to make intelligent decisions quickly and possess strong Florist Transworld Delivery computer and organizational skills. The role also requires the ability to handle stressful situations tactfully and calmly while making a positive impression on associates and customers. A thorough understanding of all key components of department operations, including floral arrangement and care of plants and cut flowers, is necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Implement company and division policies to maximize sales and profits in the Floral department.
  • Model and demonstrate core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.
  • Develop maximum customer relations through personal example of friendliness and courtesy.
  • Handle customer complaints perceptively and effectively.
  • Receive, process, and produce Florist Transworld Delivery orders for delivery.
  • Coach and train staff on pricing, price marking, rotation, stocking, and customer courtesy.
  • Plan, organize, direct, and control the activities of the Floral Department.
  • Direct the receiving, storing, pricing, and merchandising of all floral products.
  • Order supplies to maintain adequate stock and guard against waste and pilferage.
  • Maintain and submit required records and reports effectively.
  • Analyze all aspects of the Floral Department and make recommendations to the store manager.
  • Promote and implement company initiatives and process improvements positively.
  • Supervise and coach direct reports, complete performance reviews, and provide feedback.
  • Work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
  • Manage conflict in a reasonable and nonconfrontational manner.
  • Provide support and assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
