The Floral Clerk provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service, creates beginning levels of design work floral arrangements, and fills necessary merchandising needs. This position assists customers with placing orders and completes the paperwork, takes deliveries, and makes delivery lists.

Requirements

• Less than High School education or six months or less of similar or related work experience.
• Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions.
• Ability to perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.
• Ability to file, post, and mail materials; copy data from one record to another.

Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern, and patience in all customer interactions.
• Greets customers in a friendly manner and makes an effort to learn customers' names.
• Assists customers by escorting them to products, securing out-of-reach products, and loading or unloading heavy items.
• Answers the telephone promptly and provides friendly, helpful service to customers who call.
• Assists customers with placing orders over the phone or in person and completes the paperwork involved.
• Works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Prepares, finishes, and replenishes floral products as necessary.
• Waters plants and prepares daily delivery lists.
• Sends and retrieves FTD, Teleflora, and orders over the computer.
• Reviews the status and appearance of floral products for freshness.
• Unloads trucks, places products in appropriate storage areas, and replenishes merchandise.
• Checks in products, puts products away, and may process invoices.
• Ensures work area is clean and neat, including coolers, counters, and floors.
• Runs department registers and receives payment.
• Removes trash in a timely manner.
• Maintains strict adherence to department and company guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress.
• Reports to work when scheduled and on time.

Benefits

• Hourly starting wage of $14.50 to $18.15 depending on experience.
