About The Position

The Floral Clerk's role is to assist and support the Floral Department -- by providing superior service, help increase sales and keep the Floral department clean and organized. Creating and displaying all occasions, seasonal and evergreen esthetically pleasing arrangements.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent;
• 2+ years experience in retail or floral department;
• Bilingual in English and Spanish
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service as currently defined by Mexico Foods, LLC within the scope of the position.
• Greet customers in a friendly manner, whether the encounter takes place in the associate's designated department or elsewhere in the store.
• Ensure floral department is clean, well-stocked and organized properly.
• Assist customers with placing orders and complete the paperwork involved.
• Give customers suggestions for plant care.
• Design esthetically pleasing all occasions floral arrangements for display or to meet the needs of a particular customer.
• Understand weekly communicated merchandising, sales, and profit objectives.
• Practice safe flower and plant handling practices, particularly for rare or delicate strains.
• Ensure merchandise is stored, rotated, and discarded properly based on store policy.
• Assist in weekly inventory.
• Controls spoilage / shrink; achieves turn goals and inventory control.
• Maintain records of invoices, receiving, and waste control.
• Achieve department merchandising goals in cooperation with your manager, merchandisers, and buyers.
• Other duties as assigned.
